Users attempting to upgrade Ephesoft versions 4.0.x to 4.1.x may see an error during the installation like the following:
This is a known issue that can be resolved by using the following workaround.
1. Make a copy of the server.xml file found in path \Ephesoft\JavaAppServer\conf and either rename or move to another location.
2. Take the copy of the server.xml file found in path \Ephesoft\JavaAppServer\confMSSQL and paste in folder \Ephesoft\JavaAppServer\conf
3. Modify registry key ‘AVAILABILITYGROUPCHECKBOX’ found in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Temp\Ephesoft folder and delete the value so that it is blank.
4. Retry the upgrade
This issue is caused by earlier versions of Ephesoft installed with the MSSQL ‘Always On’ feature. We have confirmed through testing that the ‘Always On’ settings will stay retained after the upgrade and there is no need to make any further modifications after upgrading for ‘Always On’ functionality to continue working.
