On a Daily Basis:

  1. Create a backup of the Ephesoft system database by executing the command:
    • mysqldump -uephesoft -pephesoft ephesoft2 > ephesoft_daily_12082011.sql
      • Note: In this example the database is being saved to a file that reflects its status as a daily backup, and includes the date information (12/08/2011).
    •  mssql procedure
  2. Backup the SharedFolders directory
    • “C:\Ephesoft\SharedFolders” Folder: The the SharedFolders directory and the database are the two primaries pieces required to bring the server up. This folder also contains custom batch classes and training.

At Major Upgrade Junctures:

Copy and Rename Ephesoft installation folder to a backup location. i.e rename C:\Ephesoft to C:\Ephesoft-backup. The critical items in this backup directory are:

    • “C:\Ephesoft\Application\WEB-INF\” Folder: Application specific configuration options and workflow customizations, if any. This folder will also include, META-INF folder, “lib” folder and web.xml file which may be modified for customizations.
    • “C:\Ephesoft\Application\applicationContext.xml” File: Includes the services enabled and disabled i.e. email import service can be enabled here.
    • “C:\Ephesoft\Application\log4j.xml” File: Includes logging settings for the application
    • “C:\Ephesoft\Application\i18n” Folder: Include UI language files including custom locales.
    • “C:\Ephesoft\Application\images” Folder: Include UI image files. Customer may have their own logos.
    • “C:\Ephesoft\Dependencies\license-util\ephesft.lic” File: The license file used for the system
    • “C:\Ephesoft\Report\ephesoft-reporting\META-INF\dcma-performance-reporting” Folder: includes configuration and customizations for reporting module
    • “C:\Ephesoft\JavaAppServer\conf” Folder: Includes configuration files for Java Application Server.
    • “C:\Ephesoft\Dependencies\OpenLDAP” Folder: Includes OpenLDAP database and configuration files.
