Description:

The customer may require a pdf file with different DPI / Resolution.

Associated Plugin:

CREATEMULTIPAGE_FILES plugin which can be used to create pdf files as output using ITEXT / Ghostscript / Image Magick and other API present in the dropdown.

How to read DPI of pdf files:

DPI of a pdf file can be read by FineReader software or by saving the pdf as Tiff and then checking properties/details.

Solution:

Currently there are two known ways through which we can change the DPI of the output pdf file which are described as below:

Modifying imagemagick.itext_image_convert_parameters in Ephesoft\Application\WEB-INF\classes\META-INF\dcma-imagemagick property file:

This change will be on the application level and hence will be applied to all the batch classes. Posible parameters that needs to be changed in the property

file is as below:

imagemagick.itext_image_convert_parameters=-density 72 -compress LZW

By changing the Multipage File Export Process from ITEXT to Ghostscript and using the below parameters in the CREATEMULTIPAGE_FILE plugin.

-dPDFSETTINGS=/screen   (screen-view-only quality, 72 dpi images)

-dPDFSETTINGS=/ebook    (low quality, 150 dpi images)

-dPDFSETTINGS=/printer  (high quality, 300 dpi images)

-dPDFSETTINGS=/prepress (high quality, color preserving, 300 dpi imgs)
